Emma brings empathy and compassion to her civil disputes practice. She supports clients through careful legal analysis, clear written advocacy, and a thoughtful, client-centred approach. Emma is known for her strong research and drafting skills, attention to detail, and ability to work through complex issues with clarity and care. She is responsive, organized, and focused on understanding each client’s objectives within the broader context of their matter.

Emma’s practice spans commercial disputes, defamation, professional discipline, public law, and tort litigation. She has contributed to a range of matters, including shareholder disputes, professional negligence claims, insurance disputes, and contract interpretation issues. She prepares pleadings and applications, conducts legal research, and supports litigation strategy across files. Emma works with a variety of clients, including professionals such as dentists and engineers, as well as individuals and businesses, and in matters involving real estate, insurance, and regulated professions. She has appeared before the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the Provincial Court of British Columbia.

Before joining the firm, Emma served as a judicial law clerk to five justices of the Supreme Court of British Columbia. In that role, she conducted research on constitutional issues, defamation, and family law, and supported judicial decision making. This experience gives her valuable insight into how courts assess evidence and evaluate legal arguments, and continues to inform her approach to advocacy.

Emma is particularly interested in matters involving complex legal issues and strong factual narratives, where disciplined analysis and clear advocacy can contribute meaningfully to the outcome.
