About this matter

Obtained professional misconduct findings for lack of informed consent and record-keeping breaches

The Discipline Panel found that Dr. Bajwa committed professional misconduct by failing to obtain informed consent before administering general anesthesia to a 14-year-old dog, and also found several breaches of CVBC medical-record and dentistry standards; taken cumulatively, the record-keeping deficiencies amounted to professional misconduct. Importantly, the Panel did not uphold the allegations that his anesthesia and sedation medications or protocols were inappropriate. The decision addressed liability only, with submissions on penalty to follow.
