Set aside building permit issued without required architect involvement

The B.C. Supreme Court held that Langford’s decision to issue a building permit for a mixed-use residential/commercial building designed without an architect was unreasonable. The Architects Act required an architect for a building of that size, and the Court held that the City was required to consider and comply with that legislation as a law respecting health and safety when exercising its permitting authority.
