Upheld ruling requiring municipal compliance with Architects Act

The B.C. Court of Appeal dismissed Langford’s appeal and confirmed that a municipality cannot issue a building permit without regard to statutory requirements governing who may design and supervise the construction of a building. The Court upheld the finding that the City’s permit decision was unreasonable because it failed to account for the requirements of the Architects Act.
